New Sensor Evaluation Board from Gas Sensing Solutions

Sensor Evaluation Board (SEB) allows real-time evaluation of GSS Sensor with a dedicated board and software

 

27 January 2021 – Cumbernauld, UK:  Gas Sensing Solutions, a pioneer in solid state gas sensors, has just launched a new Sensor Evaluation Board to market. The SEB allows users to easily assess the performance of a GSS CO2 Sensor in real-time while assessing the suitability for their application with no need to write software in advance.

 

The SEB, which allows for graphing of CO2, temperature and humidity is included, providing the user with a comprehensive evaluation of the sensor attached. Users can also benefit from  the SEB’s snapshot mode, designed for graphing the sensor’s current. This feature is useful for ensuring that the customers system is able to supply the peak current. For those wishing to log live data but analyse at a later date, the board can log data for subsequent investigation. Additionally, the SEB is designed to communicate with the sensor in UART or I2C Mode, dependant on the sensor requirements and user preference.

 

When using the Sensor Evaluation Board, a GSS CO2 sensor can be separately powered and all features brought out at the board edge for customer evaluation. The SEB can also be used to set up and zero a sensor remotely.

New High-Speed CO2 Sensor from Gas Sensing Solutions

SprintIR®-R CO2 sensor has 50Hz measurement rate

 

15 April 2020 – Cumbernauld, UK:  Gas Sensing Solutions, a pioneer in solid-state gas sensors, has launched a new ultra-high-speed CO₂ sensor.  The SprintIR®-R takes a reading every 20 milliseconds, making it amongst the fastest solid-state CO2 sensors available today.

 

The SprintIR®-R sensor allows the user to measure CO2 levels in real-time with high accuracy.  This capability enables designers to integrate CO2 measurement capability into new generations of equipment; healthcare professionals can monitor CO2 levels in patients’ breath in real-time when using respiratory machines; or measure CO2 levels in food packaging on a production line where the gas is used to extend shelf-life.

 

The SprintIR®-R is based on GSS proprietary solid-state non-dispersive infra-red (NDIR) LED technology, where the sensor measures concentration levels by analysing the amount of light absorbed by the CO2 gas.   The ability to measure CO2 gas levels at unprecedented rates is due to a combination of GSS solid date detection technology with its inherent high response rate, and special optical design techniques.

Gas Sensing Solutions Expands Product Portfolio with EvaluatIR

GSS EvaluatIR-A in handCumbernauld, UK: Gas Sensing Solutions has today announced the launch of the new EvaluatIR range of CO2 evaluation kits. The EvaluatIR-A and EvaluatIR-M evaluation kits provide users with a convenient way to evaluate GSS CO2 sensor technology in an easy-to-use battery powered package.

The EvaluatIR range has been designed with the user in mind. The kit, which is RoHS compliant, is easily configurable via a PC based interface, and measurements can be stored for subsequent analysis. The EvaluatIR-A allows measurement of CO2 over a 0-1% range and the EvaluatIR-M over a 0-20% or 0-100% range.

In addition to CO2 levels, both the EvaluatIR-A and EvaluatIR-M are also capable of recording pressure, temperature and relative humidity and provide a time and date stamp.  The power consumption of the evaluation kit is user configurable, enabling the 2 x AA batteries to last for 12 months.
