Alan Henderson, founder of Gas Sensing Solutions (GSS Ltd) has announced his retirement from an active role in the company.

After a career in the defence industry, Alan saw an opportunity in the NDIR gas sensing market and founded GSS in 2006 to create an innovative range of LED based gas sensors.

Alan led the development of GSS’ business worldwide, establishing customer and distributor networks in Europe, North America and Asia. Alan has been the face of GSS for more than a decade, selling more than 250,000 sensors to more than 40 countries worldwide.

During that time, GSS has won numerous awards for its technology, including the prestigious Institute of Physics Award in 2015 and the Shell Springboard 2012.

Alan Henderson said ‘I am proud to have built a company with world leading products and an enviable reputation in the market, and am delighted that Calum MacGregor has now taken the position of CEO. I look forward seeing GSS grow from strength to strength’.

New CEO Calum MacGregor said ‘Over the past 10 years, Alan has grown the company from start-up through to a multi-million pound organisation with a blue-chip customer base across the globe. We congratulate him for that achievement and wish him health and happiness as he retires from the business.’

Alan remains one of the largest shareholders in GSS.
